Just finished our weekend stay at the Clarence Gardens Hotel and had such an amazing time. The staff are incredibly friendly and are eager to help in any way they can. The room itself was lush with plenty of space and a particular fresh looking decor. The shower was decent albeit a bit on the smaller size for my liking. That said my partner had no issue in this regard. We did pay a tad extra for a room with a view and it was certainly worth every penny. Getting to look out over the sea was a particular highlight for us, very scenic. The hotel common spaces are well maintained and feel very homely. We spent each night in the hotel bar which had a nice atmosphere and even a selection of games for entertainment (Dominoes, Playing Cards, Checkers). Sad our stay couldn't be longer but would definitely consider staying again the next time we visit Scarbados.
Very smart, freshly decorated, clean, friendly hotel with excellent breakfast and location! The sea views are very nice. Large suite with 2 bedrooms + bunk beds available and perfect for children, great family stop over.
Booked a one night stay in a double room with a sea view for myself/hubby. Very nice hotel, in a lovely quiet location. Room was spotless, with a couple of really comfy chairs by the window. A small table would have been nice to enjoy a cuppa whilst taking in the sea view, although maybe not enough room for this. Walk in shower room/toilet was lovely & modern but a little cramped. We contemplated having an evening meal in the hotel, however in our opinion the menu had limited choices so we ventured out locally as the town centre is only a 5-10 minute walk away. There is a nice cosy little bar in the hotel & we found all staff to be very friendly & helpful. One minor observation - there were no coasters in the room & it didn't feel right putting the cups down anywhere. Would we book again, yes absolutely!
Stayed in many different hotels and b&b,s in Scarborough and can honestly say the Clarence Gardens is by far the best. Had an issue with our room the first night so the night porter found us another room for the night then the next morning the manager upgraded us to a ground floor sea view room. No fuss no bother. Excellent service and the breakfast is superb. Book here and you won't be disappointed.
Brilliant hotel! The view from our room was wonderful and the staff were super friendly & helpful. Very nice room and excellent location. Absolutely brilliant stay - definitely recommend. Also dog friendly if specially requested which was great and the main reason we picked this hotel. We loved staying here!
Right on the sea front. We had a lovely view of the sea. Staff were lovely. The room was a bit small but absolutely very clean. I felt ill when l got there and Liam made me a latte and brought it up to my room. How nice was that!!!
We travelled as a couple, stayed on 2nd floor, no lift to our room, lots of steps, but there is a lift for rooms on the other side of the hotel, so if mobility is an issue please mention it to the staff. Rooms modern and recently refurbished. Bedding and towels lovely quality. Breakfast well cooked and of good quality. Near the sea front and 10-15 mins walk to town centre. Free car park. Would stay here again.
Clarence Gardens IS NOW: Best Western Hotel!!! (Google maps needs to update the name)!! Superb 4 Star Hotel is a gem of a hotel I just discovered (we usually stay on the other side of Scarborough) got an excellent deal so gave this a try. Without a doubt, one or the best hotels we have stayed at. Pristine throughout & stunning view (sea view room) welcoming staff & very inviting. Beautifully presented & smells divine. We didn't have breakfast as we aren't breakfast people, but the dining area has a lovely ambience & great views as well as being clean. The room supplied us with tea/coffee making facilities with perfect sized cups! (Not tiny caravan white cups). Toiletries (shampoo/conditioner/bodywash) are supplied in large bottles that are at the ready when shower. Shower held its temperature well not a lot or room to manoeuvre, but clean. The chairs for the window view were perfect for relaxing in (so much so, spent 5 hours sat reading). Comfortable bed & the overall heating of the room was just right, not stifling or cold. Checked in with ease & have water with glasses in reception along with a make-shift post box for 'express drop off key' on checking out. Free parking is limited on using Best Western's own car-parking, otherwise need to pay for street parking. Downstairs toilet available in reception area, but steps are used to access the hotel so something to consider if disability access is required. Also something else to consider is work/scaffolding is still active in this area/on this row at present (wasn't an issue for us given our time or stay, but some may find it a little disruptive). Overall I would stay again (if it was another similar deal) superb overall. Thank you for a lovely stay. Highly recommend
